Recap: Episode 1 #

The first episode starts off with Dokgo Matae sitting on a sofa, seems to look like he's enjoying whatever is going on, and a woman leaning on him, known as Jaek Hee, the rich woman. She touches Matae from head to toe, and keep murmuring that he's sexy.

She asks him whether he wants a car, she can buy for him any car that he likes. Matae grabs her hand suddenly, and asked her to repeat what she said. She promised him that they can go see the showroom tomorrow and choose whichever car he likes. He seemed to be like feeling bad about her buying car for him. He asked her to button-up all the buttons she unbutton on his shirt. She thought he was joking, and he said it again with a heavy tone and gave her the stare.

He gets annoyed, got up the sofa and grabbed his coat. Jaek Hee tries to please him, saying that they can go watch a fashion show in Paris. But Matae still feels annoyed and said "Am I such materialistic person? Am I that kind of person who can do anything for the the thing I wants? "

Jaek Hee looked puzzled and apologizes for hurting his pride. She keep explains that she didn't meant that way, and all that she have is money.

Matae walks off, and stopped when Jaek Hee said "House? Should I buy you a house like this?" Matae still looking not pleased, turns around and walks back to her. He pressed her against the wall, caresses her hair, and gave her a kiss on the lips. He then walks off with a smirk.

Bo Tong in her room, watching a show about muscular mans, Bo Tong gave that disgusted look and murmured that muscular men looks disgusting rather than sexy. Her brother dashes into the room and doing some taekwando and saw what Bo Tong was doing with his laptop. Editing Matae's photo making a desktop wallpaper!! Her brother looked furious, screaming "What the hell you're doing with my notebook!"
Bo Tong still in her dreams, saying "Notebook is yours, Matae is mine". Her brother said what is so good about this guy who has no muscle at all, guys should have a least a little muscle. Bo Tong asked him to sit and listen to her.

Bo Tong: If there's two type of body, which would you prefer? Kim Jong Kook or Kang Dong Won?
Brother: Of course, Kim Jong Kook !
Bo Tong: Why?! It suppose to be Kang Dong Won! You, stupid.
Brother: Stupid?
Bo Tong: Yea, stupid!

Bo Tong rushes into the room and scolds her for taking up a part-time job at a restaurant. She ask Bo Tong to do all the dish-washing at their own restaurant instead. Bo Tong argues that her mom doesn't get paid for working in their own restaurant. Bo Tong's mother drags her out of the room and asks her to write down her qualifications. And Bo Tong has only driving license, and the only part-time she can do is parcel delivery. Her mother scolds her for doing part-time jobs even after graduating from a university, instead of taking up a real job. Bo Tong's mother and brother suggests her to get some certificates for beauty parlor or nail art.

Bo Tong's mother: What's your dream?
Bo Tong: (writes on the paper) Matae's wife!

Her mother starts to scream at her, all the fight continues.

Bo Tong gets ready and leaves the house angrily, to the hypermarket. She was attracted by a man at the fish section. She kept looking at his hands, the veins, and the man starts to unbutton his shirt because the aircon is not working. She gets attracted by his collarbones, and he unbuttons his even more. She saw the tattoo on his chest, she wakes up to reality and walks away. She starts to imagine about Matae, dreaming about swimming in his collarbones and laughs alone.

As Bo Tong waits for the bus at the bus stop, she spotted the words she engraved on the bus stop bench, written "Dokgo Matae is mine". A bus stopped by, she reminisced about her first meeting with Matae in the bus 10 years ago.

She sleeping in the back seat of the bus, Dokgo Matae walks in the bus, with an angel glow on him, Bo Tong was fascinate by his beauty and can't believe her eyes that there is such beautiful man on earth! She can't take her eyes off him. Matae grabs a seat, Bo Tong gets up from her seat and leans at the place he's sitting. She kept on looking at him, but he ignored her presence and put on earphones.

She leans nearer and nearer to have a clear look at his beautiful face. Matae felt something weird and opened his eyes, and got shocked seeing Bo Tong's face so close to him.

Matae: What are you doing?
Bo Tong: Where are you going?
Matae: Why would you want to know?
Bo Tong: I want to wake you up when you reach your destination.
Bo Tong: sleep well!!

Back into her room, Bo Tong kept thinking about her crush on Matae. Her mother calls her out to serve a friend of hers. As soon as she get to the restaurant, there were 2 guests sitting at the table. The lady was a friend of Bo Tong's mother and her son. Bo Tong greets the lady guest obediently and she gave a shocking look at the son, who turned out to be Dokgo Matae!! She stared at him in shocked, and he looked back at her expressionless.

Bo Tong: You're son of my mother's friend?
Matae's mother: You two know each other?
Bo Tong: I saw him at the.. bus..
Matae: We should've just eaten at home, I am vegetarian you know.
Matae's mother: We can have dinner and also meet my friend at the same time.
Bo Tong: Vegetarian?! Should I get some vegetables for you? upgraded ones.
Matae: No need. We must show some respect by eating whatever that is served.

Matae picks a meat and eat.

Matae's mother: Oppa is a little picky.
Bo Tong: He's still pretty that way. Ah no, I mean I will grill the meat 'prettily' for you.

Despite being a vegetarian, Matae ate to every last bit of the meat.

Matae and his mother having a conversation at the roof top. He asked if he can meet his father, but his mother suggested that it's not the time yet.

Mother: Matae-ah, I want to keep my promise.
Matae: What is it? The secret code which only you and dad knows. If only you bring me with you, then it counts as keeping the promise? Mom, please let me know, if I can't see him at all..
Mother: Not now... When it's time, I'll let you know the secret code. You must wait patiently till then. Before that, we don't want to disturb him, we promised right?
Matae: But when is the time?

Matae's mother tries to switch the topic, by asking him if he's hungry and she would make his favourite egg rolls. But Matae rejects her and says that that very high in calories and he'll grow fat. Mother walks away to make some midnight snacks, and Matae sighs alone.

Bo Tong stalks Matae to his house. Matae saw her and asked her what's she doing, she brought some meat for him. He takes the meat from her and chases her away.

At school, Bo Tong tries to stalk Matae in his class too. She looked into a classroom and saw all the girls staring at Dokgo Matae. The teacher is mesmerized by his beauty as well, Bo Tong stares at him while he takes a sip from his water bottle, Bo Tong's dream is to be that water.

Back to 10 years later, Jaek Hee asks if Matae is satisfied with new house she's buying for him. She tells him that she still can't believe she's dating a beautiful guy like Matae, he's so beautiful that she feels small infront of him, if a pretty young lady walks pass him, she feels nervous. Matae comforts her by saying beauty and young is only for awhile, to him, having alot of money is beautiful. Matae pulls her close to him and gives her a peck on her lips. She hands over a car key to him, as a present and warns him not to fetch any other girls.

Matae walks to the car which was a Porsche(Hi there, Louis! ), and he started to talk to the car.

Matae: To be honest, you're shocked right? Yea, of course, you would be shocked. You wouldn't expect you owner would treat you like this right? Just because she met this Dokgo Matae!

He plays around with the car, having lots of fun, and finally he speeds off on the road. He receives a call from his mom, and he addresses her as "President" jokingly. She tells him that she can't sleep and misses him. She sends him a few photos of her and asks him to choose the best looking ones. Matae thought she was plain bored. He tells her that he has a "Gangnam style" house now, and he'll bring her there in a few days. Mother says she wants to see his face, he told him mom to wait a little and look at his photos first. But she insist to see him in real.

At the traffic light, Matae spots a car stops right beside his car, a lady was driving. His mother was still on the phone, trying to tell him something. Matae looks at the lady with an angry eyes, their eyes met. He wasn't paying attention to his mother on phone anymore, he chases the lady quickly and tells his mom to go to bed.

His mother's eye teared up and started to cry, looking at the medication box. Seems like his mother has some serious diseases. Bo Tong came over to the house to deliver some meat, as usual. Matae's mother requested Bo Tong to accompany her to a place the next morning and Bo Tong agrees with a smile.

Matae still chasing the lady which he met at the traffic light, and she seems to be like having fun being chased by him. However, she drove away at the next traffic light.

Matae flashes back to the past, where the first time he met the lady which is known to be Hong Yoo Ra, in a coffee shop, when he first came to Seoul. "She's the only beautiful face that has ever strike me down. "

Just as he was about to forget her she would appear and disappear again. He thought back to the first time he saw her. It was when he first arrived to Seoul and he came to Cheongdam-dong as he was told that is where all the beautiful people lived. He was shocked by how beautiful she was. When she turned to look at him he pretended to look cool and sit back and drink and when he looked back she was gone. She had sent him a glass of water with a piece of paper telling him to drink this water and get more clear minded. He angrily threw that piece of paper away.

He then meets up with his friend who he tells off for working as a host and pouring drinks for woman for the rest of his life. However his friends find hearing this funny coming from him and asks him if he really likes his current girlfriend and mentions how wealthy he heard she is.

Bo-Tong is accompaning Dokgo Matae’s mom to visit a friend. It turns out to a gentleman who she hasn’t seen in years and they talk about Matae and how he’s grown up well. Matae’s mom asks her if she really likes Matae that much. She admits but wishes that he liked her even a little bit as she doesn’t believe she meets his standards. Matae’s mom asks Bo-Tong to continue to watch over Matae if she can’t be by his side. Bo-Tong agrees quickly but is a little bit suspicious of the request asking her if she was going somewhere which she replies no.

Matae is meeting his current girlfriend’s friends where they ask Matae questions regarding his true intentions as they notice he is young and wonders why he is with her. They are impressed with his honesty and wit. Matae clearly doesn’t want to be there and drinks more wine as the girls chat on.

Bo-Tong being worried that she will end up with a body like her mom asks her brother to wrap her in plastic wrap. Her mom comes out suddenly informing her that Matae’s mom has collapsed and tells her to call Matae to let him know.

Matae has left the bar letting his current girlfriend know when she calls that he is not coming back in. After hanging up he sees Hong Yoo Ra pull into the parking lot and gets out of the car. He walks up to her and asks her why she keeps on appearing before him. Yoo Ra pretends that she doesn’t know what he is talking about at first but changes her tone after he calls her out on pretending not to know him and asks why she is doing this and who she is.

“I see that you’re really mad but aren’t you excited ? You get to meet me again.” Yoo Ra saids with a smile.

Matae continues to ask her to explain their meetings when he realizes she is there for a school reunion which was the event his girlfriend was at. He wanted to ask her more but was interrupted by the phone. It was Bo-Tong letting him know that he mom had collapsed and that she has been going through chemotherapy without letting anyone else know. As he was about to leave Yoo Ra stops him and moves in closer advising him that he shouldn’t drive after drinking all the alcohol and offers to drive him to the hospital. Matae pauses for a moment asking her how she knows where his mom lives. Yoo Ra ignores the question just telling him that going with her would be faster than any other transport asking him if he is going in.

In the car she notices his lip bleeding and hands him a tissue telling him if he wants to cry to do so. He takes the tissue and stares back out the window to hide his tears that want to come out. Yoo Ra comments that he must have some things that he can’t talk about and someone whom he wants to protect.

The other woman come out of the hotel and his current girl notices that Matae’s car is still there so she looks for him asking the valet if he had seen him and informs then that he had left with a girl who fits Yoo Ra’ s description. The girls wonder if she had set her eyes on Matae. His girlfriend insists that wouldn’t happen since she doesn’t have money and laughs it off as she leaves but worry is obviously on her face.

Bo Tong and her mom are in Matae’s mom’s room watching her. Her mom asks her if she had contacted Matae and tells her to take off the plastic wrap. Outside the room she bumps into Matae who asks about his mom and tells her to leave after seeing her covered in plastic not liking what she was wearing. He hurries into his mom’s room upset telling her to get well soon. His mom tells him not to blame anyone for her sickness. He once again asks to contact his dad since she was sick but this upsets her causing her problems breathing. The nurse tells her not to talk. Yoo Ra has come in and comments on how beautiful his mom is. Matae wants to talk with his mom more but then his phone rings which he doesn’t want to answer but Yoo Ra tells him to answer so she wouldn’t become suspicious since she knows they left together and she will take care of his mom.

At first Yoo Ra introduces herself as someone who wants to help Matae but lets her know she has been looking for her and her son since they hiding. She asks if she was that scared and that she knows who Matae’s father is. She wants Matae to find his position and will definitely make it happen. She further aggravates her by suggesting that she tell Matae right away who his father is.

Matae is on the phone with his girlfriend telling her not to misunderstand and not to call him for awhile and he hears Bo Tong’s voice and sees doctors rushing into his mom’s room. Yoo Ra tells him to quickly come in to see his mom to responding to the doctors trying to revive her and yelling for his mom to wake up.

Matae sits depressed and sad outside the funeral room lifelessly until he saw the one pic that was framed of his mom remembering it was the one he picked for his mom and cries on the floor while hugging this photo. Bo Tong and her family sadly look on in the background.

Matae is sitting in his mom’s yard when he sees Yoo-Ra coming in with flowers. He knows asking her how she knew where his mom lives would be useless. Even though he is really curious about who she is he was so mentally drained that he will ask her the next time he sees her. Yoo Ra then let him know that she knows what the password is he needs to meet his father. He asks again who she is and what she is saying. And she just responds that she has the most important words in his life. "

Which means as of now Dokgo Matae you belong to me.”
